Did you have a favorite book as a child? Jill Morgan did. The Keller resident, banking on her belief that others did as well, in June launched a new publishing business and related Web site, Purple House Press. Morgan is republishing those out-of-print classics and offering them for sale on her site (www.purplehousepress.com). Initially, she features two books, "Mr. Pine's Purple House" by Leonard Kessler, and "David and the Phoenix", by Edward Ormondroyd. The soon-to-be-available "Mr. Bear Squash You Flat," is a favorite of "Far Side" cartoonist Gary Larson and he's written a foreword for the reprinted version. Orders on the site clipped along at a respectable, manageable pace until a couple of weeks ago when Purple House Press was mentioned in USA Today. Orders tripled, and Morgan flew her parents in from Ohio to help fill 750 orders for the first two books. She's a little frantic these days, but say she is "very, very happy."
